Hotel La Estacion

The dining room staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean. The pool was nice too, except when loud club music played for hours, which seemed to happen on weekends. There’s free parking with plenty of room and easy access. But this was a poor fit for our family vacation. We chose a 4-star hotel away from the noisy party areas by the beaches, expecting quiet nights, but the hotel is directly above a major bus terminal. Without double-glazed windows, bus engines were constant when we tried to sleep, and the old windows were hard to close properly. Party groups were still staying there, and staff didn’t do much to keep them apart from families. The hallways echo badly, and doors slam loudly, so late-night talk and doors kept waking us. During our eight-night stay, we never got one uninterrupted night. The beds are thin platforms with a mattress on top, and narrow legs and poor upkeep meant they shook whenever we turned over. Housekeeping gave us sticky pads to put beneath the legs when we raised this. Vegan and vegetarian guests may struggle to get protein: we had full board, but nearly 90% of the dishes contained meat or fish. The kitchen sometimes put out vegetarian choices, but nothing was labeled, so it was impossible to tell what was suitable. Even on full board, drinks at lunch and dinner cost extra, and they wouldn’t even serve tap water, which we found absolutely unreasonable. The hotel needs a complete renovation and furniture upgrade. If you’re a light sleeper, this place could drive you crazy. I’d strongly advise families and anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday to avoid it.

We really enjoyed our four nights in March 2025, in room 307. Getting there from the airport was incredibly easy because the hotel is right above the bus station, and the sights are all within walking distance. Reception staff were friendly, and the whole place was spotless. The room had everything we needed, including a large, comfortable bed. There’s a good-quality basic breakfast option for 10 Euros. The gym could use better equipment. Brilliant value for money!

It’s beside the bus station but still nice and quiet, away from the action. The walk downhill to the oldtown and beach takes 20-30 minutes, so the slope makes it manageable. The room and bathroom were a great size, and the pool and gym were good too. They were very quiet in the morning. Good value for money.

A nice, clean hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast was decent and had good options.
