Magic Villa Benidorm

The rooms have comfy beds and are cute, though dated, which is part of the charm. The air con and mini fridge both worked well, but the shower barely had any power, and we had to lift the faulty sliding wardrobe doors each time we wanted clothes. The outdoor pool and sunbathing area looked lovely, but in November it was too cold to use the pool, and the indoor one wasn't open, which was disappointing. The location is fantastic, right among the best bars and close to the beach, with no hills to climb, lol. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. The cleaners do a great job in the rooms, but on the first floor we were woken every single morning by them starting early, banging about outside our door. Don't expect a lie-in. Breakfast was poor and very limited. The English breakfast sausages were burnt every morning, and to me everything tasted of garlic. The continental selection wasn't good either. It was okay as a base and somewhere to sleep, but I wouldn't return or recommend it. I guess you get what you pay for.

The hotel is a good budget option, and both the reception and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, and the price is good for it. Our room was comfortable, clean, and functional, though the whole hotel looks tired and could use freshening up. Check-out was before 12 noon and check-in was at 4pm, but from around 9am the maid was cleaning rooms noisily with a radio on. She tried our door five times before 11am. I told her my partner wasn't feeling well and was resting, and that we'd be gone by 11. After I took the bags to the car and came back around 10.45, the supervisor was about to enter again and looked very angry. I asked her to wait while we got ready to leave in a few minutes. It made for an unpleasant checkout. If the hotel needs rooms earlier, it should tell guests and change the checkout time.

The location makes it easy to get around Benidorm, and it's hard to argue with how well placed the hotel is. Inside it feels a bit old and dated, but it's comfortable for sleeping and spending some time by the pool. We got back this morning from Hotel Magic Villa Benidorm. Morgan's Tavern is right next door, on the strip, so the location is perfect. The staff were a credit to the hotel and themselves. The building is old and clearly needs major refurbishment for this price, though breakfast was passable.
