Hotel Teremar

We stayed for a week with my mates, and it was the worst decision I've ever made. The food was awful, and my friend got food poisoning and was sick for the rest of the holiday. The pool, or what they call “the bath,” was dirty and always had leaves and who knows what else in it. I'm appalled this place is even two-star. They take a €100 deposit, which I think is ridiculous for the standard of the hotel. I can confirm I got it back on the last day. If you're looking for a nice, relaxing getaway with your mates or family, please stay away.

Cockroaches in the room, terrible staff, and miles from the centre. Absolutely awful. They also take a £100 deposit and say they'll refund it if the room is okay. We left the room spotless, but two weeks later the money still hadn't come back, even though they said it would take seven days. Definitely don't recommend it. Avoid at all costs.

I expected less from a two-star place, but it turned out better than I thought. The location is central for restaurants, bars and the main attractions. The staff were all very friendly, reception was open 24/7, the rooms were clean, and they were serviced daily. The pool area was nice, and we had a great view from the balcony. We had a great stay and would come back. I'd recommend it for all ages. I didn't book breakfast or try any of the food, so I can't comment on that. The only things I'd pick on are the limited plug sockets and the lack of an iron or tea and coffee station in the room. This was my first time trying a low-star hotel.

We enjoyed our stay and would come back for a short break. It's close to the old town and beach, and the continental breakfast was fresh and really enjoyable every day. Juice and coffee came from the usual hotel machines, though you could get a better coffee cheaply at the bar. The travel company changed our booking at the last minute, so this wasn't the hotel I'd originally chosen. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and housekeeping did a great job with daily room cleaning. The rooms were spacious, but had only one plug socket in the bedroom, so we couldn't use the TV if we needed to charge phones. The walls were thin and we could hear everything from the rooms next door. I found the beds quite hard, but it didn't keep me awake.
