The Castell de Guadalest is high up in the mountain, and the view over the reservoir from the top is fantastic. There are 250 steps and it takes about 25 minutes to climb. Entry is 23 euros per person. Guadalest itself is a lovely village, with plenty of parking at 2 euros a day. We had a lovely stay at Nasilvana Hotel, which has traditional Spanish charm and looks recently renovated. A special thanks to Manuel for looking after us. The hotel serves a great dinner and continental breakfast. There are a few restaurants about a five-minute walk away, but they serve lunch only. The hotel entrance opens onto a narrow, fairly steep side street. It’s essential to park in the car park behind the hotel, shown in the photo, since that’s the easiest way to bring your cases inside.

We found the hotel while looking for somewhere to stay in Guadalest, and Manuel was a friendly, helpful host. He showed us where to walk and drive. The rooms were very clean, with lots of attention to detail. Dinner was excellent and well priced, and what a view! Breakfast was great too, with everything you’d expect. I’d recommend it anytime.

We went for a much-needed break and came away very happy. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful. Dinner was first class, made with fresh ingredients, and breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in Spain. Thank you to Manolo and his lovely wife.

The hotel staff were really nice, and we loved our holiday here. Our room looked out over a lemon garden in a very quiet part of Benimantell. From there, it’s a pleasant 18-minute walk to famous Guadalest. We went to Guadalest castle in the evening and got to enjoy it without hundreds of tourists around. It was an amazing experience.

After a full day of hiking, the clean room and comfy bed made for a great night’s sleep. It’s really quiet at night. The hosts were amazing, and the local atmosphere and wild scenery around the place were wonderful.
