Vivienda Rural Prado

This renovated country house has two fully equipped apartments, one downstairs that sleeps 6 and another upstairs for 8. You can rent the whole place or just one floor. It’s in a very quiet spot, with a big garden, vegetable patch, pool, barbecue, private parking, and two terraces. A good fit for a peaceful holiday in Alcaudique (Berja), away from everyday life.

We stayed in the house for a week and everything was perfect, from the pool and the house itself to the impeccable cleaning and service. It really deserves 5 stars. Highly recommended.

The outside is the best part of the accommodation. Inside, the mattresses are too short and uncomfortable, the furniture is dated, and at night you hear noise from the nearby road.

Antonio, our host, was very friendly and attentive, checking that we were enjoying our stay and sharing ideas for things to do. He suggested a wine tasting at a nearby winery, about 20 minutes toward the Alpujarra region of Almería, and we’d highly recommend it. We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area again. We rented both houses for our large group, and between them they had everything we needed to live comfortably. All the bedrooms are doubles, with either a fan or air conditioning. There are two bathrooms on each floor, so getting everyone showered wasn’t a problem, and one bathroom is wheelchair accessible. The well-kept saltwater pool gets sun for nearly the whole day, so we could use it until dinner. The neighbor who looks after the vegetable garden also maintains the pool. It has a separate entrance from the garden, and he and his family are very friendly. The house is in an unbeatable location. Berja isn’t a major tourist destination, but it’s a handy base for excursions and visits. Beaches are 15 minutes away by car, hiking trails are 10 minutes away, and Almería city is 35 minutes away. Playa de los Muertos, Playa de Genoveses, and Cabo de Gata are about an hour away. There’s also an indoor garage with an automatic door that fits three cars, so we didn’t have to park outside.
