The room itself was spacious, updated, and very quiet, with lovely views to the south and east. We also remembered how beautiful the scenery was from our visit 19 years ago. But this time, the stay left us angry. After spending the day in Bielsa, we returned to find our room door wide open and three builders inside using drills to fit a headboard. Nobody had told us or asked permission, and our belongings were there. It wasn't an emergency; they could have waited until the 14 hours after our checkout. I complained to reception, but when we left, nobody spoke English. The TV hadn't worked either, and I couldn't explain in Spanish that I thought we might deserve compensation. The hotel has been modernised since it felt more like a hunting lodge. Now it caters to coach groups and families. On Saturday afternoon, three children ran wild on the terrace, and the loud American tour group didn't help. Service used to feel personal, with the bartender talking about Spanish brandies. This time, staff mostly chatted among themselves, and it was hard to find anyone in the bar. Olga in the breakfast room was the exception. A few more people like her would have made a difference. The food was hit and miss. The waiter kept calling the venison “Bambi,” and it was nice, but the linguine with manchego was inedible. I can't recall the other meals. You're a captive audience without other choices nearby. I'd stay in Bielsa instead, where there are several restaurants. There's also a lovely riverside walk to a campsite where the owner is happy to serve you.

The mountain scenery is incredible, and the walks right near the hotel are beautiful. You're practically in the national park, with mountains all around. Dinner was good too. We were pleasantly surprised to find the rooms had been completely renovated just a few months earlier, and they felt brand new. Great value for the money.

We skipped dinner at the hotel after hearing enough complaints about the service, and the nearby places we tried were all great. Breakfast at the hotel was good, though. It's a lovely place for a three-star hotel, and I hope to come back in autumn for more hiking.

The place is beautiful, but the management, service, and food spoiled the stay. For one room over two nights, a bill of 700€ in such a remote spot should come with a flawless experience. I was very disappointed and hope management changes soon so people can enjoy this incredible setting properly. I didn't get a response to my email, so I'm posting my complaint here in the hope of hearing back. First, I need confirmation that there was hail on the 18th for my car insurance. I was shocked by how aggressively I was treated, including being told the police would be called if I parked my expensive sports car under the arcade until the hail stopped. It's difficult and costly to repair. I also want a refund for the two so-called “burgers” I ordered at the bar. They were barely edible, probably the worst food I've ever had, and I got food poisoning from them. As for the service, it's beyond terrible.

Beautiful mountains surround this spot at the end of the road, with plenty of hiking nearby. The rooms have been refurbished recently, and the restaurant is great.
