Inside Bilbao Apartments

The location is good, and the cleaning lady was helpful and communicative. But the place feels more like student accommodation than somewhere luxurious, and the upkeep is poor. The first thing I noticed on opening the door was a strong, unpleasant smell. I opened all the windows to try to clear it, but never really managed to. The linen was good quality, but cleaning was average and maintenance generally fell short. The furniture felt cheap, and the settee had obvious stains that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Why not cover it? In a place with four beds, there was only one wine glass and two coffee pods. Two large windows had no blackout blinds, the balcony chair was broken, and the fake grass on the balcony didn’t fit properly. The floor was chipped and simply painted grey, with cheap vinyl lino mats. The headboard had unhygienic stains on it. Online registration and communication were really poor.

Raquel and Miren messaged us on WhatsApp every morning to see if we needed anything, and the room was clean, with a washer/dryer and everything else we needed. Inside Bilbao Apartments is close to the metro, grocery shops, and the museum Guggenheim. If you’re planning excursions, this condo is a must since most of them depart from Guggenheim museum. We had a WONDERFUL stay. A MUST condo when you’re in Bilbao. BRAVO 👍

I was here for one night in September 2024 as a solo traveller, and would happily return for longer. It’s a lovely location, just a stone’s throw from the Guggenheim, with excellent transport links and great food nearby. The space is gorgeous, small, and really well equipped. It felt safe and secure. The access details were super clear, and the staff member I spoke with was very helpful and considerate.

The location was excellent, and communication was friendly and good, but the air conditioning was never fixed. We didn’t get the cool room we needed, especially since we knew Bilbao would be hot. The corridor and lift were actually cooler. In August 2024, we spent three nights in Room 5 with the temperature stuck at 26°. Within 10 minutes of arriving on a very hot day, I reported that the unit wouldn’t stay at 16°. We were told it was slow to cool. We left it running while we were out for eight hours, but came back to a room at 27°. I reported it again the next morning after a sleepless night. They brought another fan, but the one tower fan already there only pushed the hot air around. For the next two nights we slept with the window wide open, which meant losing the soundproofing from the noisy street. We also heard two bottle collections during the night, and sunrise came around 5am. Disappointing.
