The reading room beside the lobby has first class art books about Guggenheim Bilbao exhibitions, all world class. I also liked the small building, which somehow feels almost like a resort. The design is clean and postmodern, with modern amenities, a great coffeemaker in each room, and room numbers on the floor instead of the doors. Checkout at noon is generous. This is an ideal place to write a book, then take a break and walk the 300 steps to the Guggenheim Bilbao. Just know that in Basque country everything shuts by 11:00 pm at the latest, though you may be happy staying in. Everyone at the hotel was devoted, professional, and attentive. They got everything right, in my view, and set a model for other hotels.

The Miro is clean, and the staff are wonderful. I was there for three nights for a conference, and the location worked perfectly for the Guggenheim and the tram, which can take you around the city. Great restaurants, architecture, and shops are just minutes away. Highly recommend!

The staff are what make this place special. When my wife was hospitalized during our stay, the concierge and front desk went out of their way to help us communicate with the hospital in its native language. The cleaning staff also helped her with her compression socks. Those kindnesses came from the heart, and I can’t thank them enough. The location is great, with easy access to the tram and the Guggenheim. Rooms are a little small but well laid out. My only room complaint is that there’s an outlet on just one side of the bed. Not a big deal. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. You won’t regret staying here.

The staff were professional and very helpful, and the rooms are lovely. The hotel sits near the Guggenheim, in Bilbao’s lively art and restaurant district. It’s also a short walk along the river to Old Town.

We had an Urban Executive room, but Hotels.com didn’t make clear that these are internal rooms. The frosted window meant there was no view outside and the room felt dark, so I’d suggest choosing a different room type. Otherwise, a good hotel in a great location. Staff were helpful, we got a free drink at the self-service bar, and they even gave us free Guggenheim tickets. It’s just across the road. I think we got lucky with the tickets, so I wouldn’t expect every guest to get them.
