The location is convenient, near the supermarket, city centre, and a bus stop, and there's a little outdoor courtyard. Booking was easy and the staff were friendly. But I wouldn't recommend Pil Pil Hostel if you have any other option. It felt dirty, outdated, and overpriced, with a bad atmosphere. Some people seem to live there and act like they own the place, and the shared areas were often loud. People talked in the dorms and smoked and drank outside late into the night, with the noise and smell carrying into the room. As a woman, I felt uncomfortable and unsafe around some of the other guests. There was little privacy or quiet, and the toilets and showers were mixed gender. To reach them, you have to walk through the common room, where I also felt uneasy. The beds had no curtains and the mattresses were very uncomfortable. The showers had little room for clothes or toiletries, some didn't even lock, and the old showerheads and hoses leaked. The lockers smelled like feet, as did the pillows and blankets stored in them. The toilets were dirty and didn't flush properly. Not recommended.

The man at reception was friendly and spoke excellent English, which made everything easy. The hostel and room both felt very secure, and everything was clean. Sheets, a pillow, a blanket, and a locker were provided. It's an easy walk to the Guggenheim and other places, with plenty of cafes nearby. Finding the hostel and checking in were both simple. Thank you.

We slept really well in the 12-bed room, though it smelled a little off, probably because there was only one window. The bathrooms were clean, and outside there were two hammocks. All in all, a solid stay.

The metro and tram are very close, just a 30-second walk away. The staff were so nice and the reservation went well, but some of the other guests were rude. People kept talking loudly in the common area at 11 p.m., and I couldn't sleep very well. They gave me a really nice blanket, but it had no cover, so I couldn't tell whether it was clean.

The metro is right beside the hostel, although it's not especially close to the city centre. I found the room crowded with 12 people and not very clean, and €25 felt like too much, especially with no breakfast included. The neon lighting in the common area wasn't welcoming either. It's a shame the yard closes at 8 p.m.
