The view from our living room was the highlight, with the sea looking beautiful both day and night, and the fireworks festival was great to watch from there. We stayed in Apartment Elvira, unit 5A on the fifth floor, for nine days in high season, July 23-31, 2023. The beach is about two minutes away, and bars, cafes, and shops are right in the center of things. Neus at reception was very friendly and helpful, and I appreciated her advice. Fresh towels and bedding were provided once during the week. The lack of air conditioning was the biggest problem. With nights at 28-30°C, even with the windows and terrace door open, sleeping was miserable. The building is old, and a restaurant ventilation shaft runs along the outside wall by the back bedroom, making constant noise. That bedroom also faces neighbors close enough that we could hear them talking and their dog barking, and cigarette or spliff smoke came in much of the night. Keeping the window shut made it unbearably hot and stuffy. Parking was uncertain. There might be a free space about 200 meters away, but otherwise you have to park on the road and pay. The room Wi-Fi isn't free: tickets cost €5 for one day, €10 for three days, or €15 for a week, and each device needs its own ticket. There is free Wi-Fi at the small, very hot reception downstairs, which also has no air conditioning. You need to bring your own toilet paper and carry rubbish to bins about 200 meters away. There was no toaster or microwave, and the bathroom had poor ventilation. I travel a lot and try to give fair feedback, but Elvira Apartments needs major improvements. Compared with nearby apartments it feels stuck in the 1990s, and no air conditioning in the rooms is hard to accept in this heat.
