Stella Maris Family rooms Apartments

I stayed three nights at the end of September with my sister. The hotel was clean, though the room felt dated, with old wardrobe doors and lighting. The bath was cracked and rusty, but it was fine for us. The food was okay for a three-star hotel, though I stuck to coffee and croissants. At breakfast and dinner, I was put off by the chef hovering over the food and constantly touching the utensils and rearranging it. I saw him wipe his nose with a tissue and cough into his hand. There was no hand sanitizer in the hotel, and a fly was around the food. The meat and cheeses were on a wooden board that didn't look appealing, so I wouldn't touch it. There wasn't much to do nearby, so on day two we took a taxi to Lloret de Mar, the nearest town.

The room was tiny, and the bed sagged in the middle. We were left waiting while staff seemed to serve Spanish guests before tourists. The reception staff were lovely.

We loved the room. I didn't take photos, but it was nice, tidy, and clean. Breakfast was included in our booking and was amazing. We'll definitely return to this hotel.

The location was a real plus: near the beach and station, lively but not too noisy, and it felt safe. Our room was basic but fine for a few days, and the cleaning was excellent. When we had a small problem with the shower and air conditioning, someone came to fix it straight away. The food was basic too, though we always found something we liked and never went hungry. What bothered me was the chef mixing every dish during dinner, from the lettuce to the chips. It felt unnecessary and unprofessional, especially after Covid. There were no dish descriptions either, which wasn't great for one of us who was vegetarian. We didn't use the pool or jacuzzi, but the pool looked clean and a decent size. The place was basic, as expected, but really good for the price. A cheap sunny break in a great spot.
