The setting and accommodation are exceptional, very peaceful, and well located despite being a little hidden. Breakfast was pretty good, although somewhat limited. As a place to stay, it could be a perfect 10, but the host really lets it down. His welcome and customer service were minimal. He gave us only basic information on arrival, then left us to manage on our own, and seemed bothered by guests. He repeatedly said, "If you don't like it, tough luck..." He even wouldn't open the door after seeing us struggle to get in. Unbelievable. The website is poorly managed and has reservation problems, so you could arrive and find no room available. His answer was to offer us his own bed, without trying to find another option. The advertised tasting room is misleading too, since it's only open in the off-season or whenever he feels like it.

We'd booked seven days for our summer holiday, but after traveling 900 km, the owner told us there was no room, apparently having forgotten our booking. He offered neither a solution nor any compensation, and refused to take responsibility for the mistake. We quickly found another option, more expensive, but still had a good vacation. We didn't get to use the facilities, and our experience with the owner was poor.

For three days, Aldea Bordóns was a cozy, welcoming escape from everyday stress. The rooms felt comfortable, and I liked the glass-enclosed lounge with its mossy stone wall, along with the gardens and rustic decorative pieces. I'd definitely recommend it for a peaceful break.

Gerardo, the owner, shared the village's history and customs and gave us ideas for things to do nearby. It's a beautiful spot to enjoy an old Galician rural village and switch off. Breakfast was good too. Highly recommended.
