The Wi-Fi was unreliable, so if you need to stay connected, you may want a hotspot or a nearby café with good internet. Still, the staff at Hostal Julian in Madrid were always ready to help and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained, with comfortable beds and nice decor. Service was excellent, and the rooms were pretty good, so I'd recommend it for a comfortable stay in the city. Just have a backup plan for Wi-Fi.

Small, friendly hotel with a good-sized room. I stayed by myself. It was clean, and there was plenty of hot water for one or two showers.
