Hostal Jose Luis

Lominchar.

The kitchen was the part that looked quite unclean during my stay, though the rest of the cleanliness was decent and the bathrooms were okay. There was no temperature control in the room, so it could get too hot or too cold, and I had to leave the window open to manage it. It's acceptable for a night if you keep expectations low, and the price feels about right. Not awful, but nowhere near good.

They said the room had heating, but mine didn't, and the shower water was lukewarm at best. I was stunned. I went back to the Canary Islands with a fever of 38 degrees and came down with bronchitis. Two weeks later I'm almost over it, but nobody at the hostel took responsibility. I'm not going back.

We traveled with two cats and had no trouble at all, so it's a great option if you're with pets. The price was very reasonable, and I'd definitely return. The Wi-Fi wasn't working, haha. We only stayed one night, but it felt welcoming, like a huge shared house, with private rooms and shared bathrooms. The bathrooms are separated for men and women, each with a shower and toilet, plus there's a unisex bathroom with a bathtub. I showered at night and got hot water. The shared kitchen has a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, refrigerator and more. Cleanliness could be better, though I didn't think it was bad given the other positives. Smoking is allowed in the dining area, where it smelled of tobacco, but the rooms didn't smell. The staff were friendly, showed us around, and everything was peaceful. Our room was large and well equipped, with several beds, air conditioning, a fan, balcony, TV, desk and chair, wardrobe, towels, bedside tables and a lamp. The beds were comfortable and the sheets smelled nice. It's even better in person than in the photos. :)
