I’d booked another hotel for the wrong date, so I ended up walking around town and asking here whether they had a room. The gentleman at reception showed me one with everything I needed, and the price was good, so I stayed. The staff were friendly and patient, there was a big terrace, and the common area felt pleasant and homely. I also got fresh apples from the garden.

The double bed was a little small, though I’ve heard that’s the secret to a long marriage! The owner brought us fresh tomatoes from his terrace each morning. It’s one of those stays we’ll always remember.

We had a laid-back stay at a very clean hostal. The owners were friendly and helpful, and the terrace view was the best part, looking out to the Sierra Nevada, the sea, and the villages.
