The building is lovely and the location is excellent, which is really what keeps my rating from being lower. The room had a wonderful view, but there were cut edges in the wallpaper around the light switch, likely from replacing it, and the work should have been finished properly. Paint spots were left on the air conditioning after the room was painted, and the wall behind and above it wasn’t plastered like the rest. The shower tray didn’t slope enough, so water easily ran out. The staircase carpet wasn’t properly clean. Even old, historic carpet can be cleaned with the right techniques. Breakfast was another letdown: the baroque dining room felt over the top next to the poor buffet. There was just one kind of bread, and it wasn’t freshly baked, with a limited choice of meats and cheeses and no fresh cakes or croissants. It’s a real pity. With such a nice building and wonderful location, the owners or management could do a much better job. I don’t understand their approach.

I arrived at 22:15 and asked for something hot to eat, but was told the kitchen was closed. Then, while I was on the terrace around 22:45, I saw other clients get hot food. The kitchen seems to close or stay open depending on who the clients are. Management shouldn’t allow that kind of inconsistency.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a delicious buffet with plenty of variety. The hotel is beautiful and just a short walk from the Main Square, bars, and restaurants.

The setting is excellent and there’s free parking. It’s an old-fashioned but stylish hotel, with a comfortable bed, a well-equipped room, and very friendly staff.
