Apartamentos El Cid

We highly recommend this beautiful apartment in the historic center. It's perfect for two, with a lovely bedroom, two bathrooms, and a large living room. Everything was just right: quiet and very well heated. The hotel has a parking lot that's a little pricey, but worth it for the peace of mind, since there isn't other parking nearby.

We only stayed one night while passing through Burgos, and the place worked well for that. The facilities are basic, but they were enough. Its spot just behind the cathedral is the real highlight, and we even found street parking right beside the apartment without trouble.

Being just a couple of minutes from the cathedral was the one real plus. Getting down to the square means taking quite a few stairs, though, so it’s awkward with a stroller or limited mobility. The reception is in the square and also involves stairs. Parking is on the street below, with no direct access to the garages, and reserving a space costs an extra 18 euros. The attic they gave us looked nothing like the apartment photos, and it felt like a scam. You couldn’t stand upright in the middle, which was very uncomfortable. There was no crib, even for an extra fee, and during a heatwave their answer to having no air conditioning was one cheap fan for the whole apartment. The shower felt claustrophobic. The old vinyl sofa was cheap, the microwave didn’t work properly, and the refrigerator barely cooled anything.
