The price was very low, so the hostel was acceptable on that basis. But I couldn’t charge my phone because the room’s only outlet had no power. I was using the phone to take photos, and thought it had broken, so I didn’t charge it at a café the next day and missed many pictures I wanted. Once I was back in Madrid, it charged perfectly. I spent two days in Burgos and one night at the hostel. It’s surprising they don’t maintain the facilities.

The rooms are basic but have the essentials, which is enough if you want to spend very little. The price is cheap and the quality matches. It’s in a quiet area with street parking, though you collect the keys at a nearby hostel.

The room was so noisy I could hear toilets flushing all night. It was a tiny, old double room and terribly hot, with no fan. The bathroom was cramped and uncomfortable, and everything felt outdated. There’s a terrace connecting to other rooms, so leaving the window wide open wasn’t really an option. The window was broken anyway. There’s no reception, and you have to collect the keys at another nearby hostel, not before 4:00 PM.

The girl who checked us in was an intern and very nice, but check-in is at another hostel. The bus stop right outside is handy for getting to the city center. Burgos is worth a visit, but I’ll never return to this hostel. It didn’t feel clean at all: the sheets were stained and had hair on them, the towels were torn and stained, the bathroom ceiling was cracked, and the microwave was filthy. The place didn’t smell clean either.
