A great hotel for families. You can explore beautiful Burgos, then come back and relax in the hotel’s lovely areas. I still remember its special aroma.

We left when the owner said the choices were a free breakfast or leaving at no charge. We had booked mainly for the lovely pool, and a breakfast offer felt inadequate for a €230 room that didn’t include breakfast. I would have been satisfied with even a 30% discount and an apology. The pool was closed when we went to use it. Reception said there was a pH problem, so it would be unavailable for the rest of the day and possibly the next day too. At check-in, the receptionist had shown us around the hotel and pointed out the pool. We’d also been emailed two days before arrival that it would close at 7:30pm instead of the usual 10pm because of a cocktail party. We suspect the hotel knew about the party well in advance and didn’t tell us sooner to avoid a cancellation. When a hotel’s main attraction is unavailable, fair compensation seems reasonable, especially at a place that’s supposed to be five-star. We were disappointed with how it was handled.

The heating doesn't work, and they still sell the rooms even though they know about it. When we said we were cold, all they offered was blankets. There are definitely problems here. The staff weren't good and seemed possibly unhappy. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The hotel is right by a highway exit. We were told we'd arrived while we were still on the ramp, and the view is depressing, with constant noise and a gas station kind of atmosphere. The pool was filthy and never seemed to get cleaned. Beer cans and bottles were left around all night and were still there the next morning, two days in a row. It made me wonder if anyone was working there. They charge €7 room service every time you order anything. And “pet-friendly” is a joke: it costs €70 a night for a dog that can't go anywhere except stay locked in your room, on a leash at all times. Your pet is basically a prisoner while you try to enjoy your stay. Shameful. Avoid it, even if it were free.
