We loved the food so much that we ate dinner at the hotel every evening of our three-night stay. The three-course menu changed each night, though there was just one choice. The staff were outstandingly friendly, and the hotel's remote setting made it very, very quiet. The shared areas were lovely, from the big indoor lounge to the gardens outside, and there's a little stream in front where you can sit and relax. The rooms are on the small side, but that didn't matter to us since we spent most of our time out. The owners' two big huskies visit the hotel too, and my partner fell in love with them. Sadly, we couldn't take them home!

It's very rural, with beautiful views and a warm welcome from Angel and Rosa, who are such friendly hosts. The room had all we needed and was good value. They cook tasty evening meals at a reasonable price, and handled my gluten free diet without any fuss. You can get coffee at any hour for a small charge, or make yourself a fruit tea. A lovely spot for a relaxed stay.

We've been twice now, and it was still perfect on the second visit. Angel, Rosa and the huskies make such great hosts. Breakfasts were great and dinners fantastic. Whether you're going walking, climbing, motorbiking, relaxing, or just looking to get away and cut off, this is a perfect mountain escape in northern Spain.

Rosa and Angel made us excellent dinner and breakfast, and we felt we'd discovered a little treasure in Babia y Luna national park. The posada was clean and comfortable, just right for us. It's tucked away toward the town of la Cueta, at the end of the road. We had planned to hike, but instead walked to the pueblito of la Cueta and stopped for a beer at its tiny community bar. There's rock climbing in the area too.

We went as a family, and the atmosphere, accommodations, and meals were our favorite part of our road trip around Spain. Rosa and Angel were welcoming, kind, attentive, and full of useful information. The location is beautiful and restful, far from the beaten path, but the trip to this lovely mountain region is well worth it. We'd stay again if we had the chance.
