Dorma Ágora Caceres

A nice hotel in the old town, close to bars and restaurants, with good parking and a very helpful reception. The only unpleasant part was cigarette smoke coming through the air conditioning unit.

The breakfast was really nice, at €13 per person, and the woman at reception was welcoming and friendly. She even made an effort to understand and speak our language, which we appreciated. The hotel felt tatty and old, though, and not really like a four-star place. Some basics were missing: the fridge was only at room temperature, and the card key kept stopping randomly, so we had to go back to the desk several times. Parking cost a little over €14, and our car had to go down in a rather small elevator.

The reception staff were friendly, and the rooms were spacious and clean. It’s well placed for the old town. Breakfast was okay at €13 per person, but didn’t feel four-star, and there was nowhere else to get coffee or drinks since the bar never opened. Lunch and dinner weren’t available either. There were lovely places to sit, but you couldn’t take a drink there, which seems odd for a four-star hotel. I’d give it three stars.

We had the terrace room, and it was fantastic. The room was fairly large, and the terrace was huge, shaded in the morning and sunny for much of the afternoon. Everything was comfortable, and the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. That Extremadura hospitality really shines through. Thanks for making our holiday in beautiful Cáceres even better!
