Wecamp Cadaqua S

We had a peaceful, quiet stay in a couples yurt with everything we needed. We had an amazing time and will definitely come back in summer when all the facilities are open. Thanks for a great stay!

The tiny home was just right to come back to after a day exploring. We opened the doors onto the patio and let the lovely Cadaques breezes drift through. The Wecamp grounds are quiet and relaxing, and the location works perfectly: five minutes on foot to the Dali House, or a scenic ten-minute walk to the village centre. The team were friendly and helpful. A truly wonderful place!

The setting is remarkable, and Cadaqués is absolutely worth the trip, maybe especially by bicycle. But I’m not sure this deserves to be called a campsite in the traditional sense, since the usual freedom and simplicity of camping aren’t really possible here. There are pitches, but apparently they’re only for cars. If you arrive by bike looking for a more adventurous option, it’s either rent the so-called “tents” at very high prices or head back over the mountain. The water isn’t potable, either. There’s also a faint air of exclusivity that borders on sect-like, with people not staying at Wecamp quietly treated as “outsiders.” The staff are kind and polite, but the atmosphere feels oddly sterile, more like a well-equipped dental practice than a campsite. The large pool is nice in itself, though strangely nobody seems to swim. Guests sit beside it striking poses that feel more like a performance of relaxation than genuine downtime. I can’t help feeling that chains whose names start with “We” often provide comfort and design at the cost of some soul.

The facilities were a plus: the sanitaires are modern and clean, and the showers are hot with strong pressure. The village of Cadaqués is only a short walk away, so the campsite is very well placed. Still, it’s in town, with the usual urban sounds of trucks, barking dogs and scooters going by. I prefer peaceful countryside. The pitches are quite small, too, with no privacy between vans. It felt like a supermarket car park. I’d personally rather stay at a smaller, simpler site with bigger grassy pitches and more space from the neighbours.
