Hotel Blaumar Cadaqués

After we reported the damage, the hotel said they would handle it through their insurance. Then came silence: no updates, no reply to our follow-ups, nothing. In August 2025, we had parked in the hotel's garage, and as we were leaving, the automatic gate suddenly shut on our car and visibly damaged it. For a hotel of this standard to ignore guests after something like that is shocking. We expected at least some accountability and communication. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

The staff made the stay easy, helping us with parking, dietary restrictions at the included breakfast, and directions for driving out of town, which can be tricky for visitors. Breakfast was very good, and the whole experience was great for the price. Blaumar is tucked away from the main strip, so nights are quiet, but it's only a 3-4 minute walk to the nearest beach and lots of restaurants. A perfect spot for visiting Cadaques.

We booked the last available hotel in Cadaqués and wondered what the catch was, since the peak-season price included breakfast and was quite competitive. There wasn't one. The welcome was professional, and they gave us a clear explanation of how the hotel works. The staff were lovely and looked after us well even though we arrived late. Rooms were very clean, simple but spacious, with almost everything you need for a seaside stay in Cadaqués. Hotel parking, if you can't find a spot outside, costs a reasonable 18€ per night. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the area where Cadaqués gets lively, so you can have a quiet night and still be close to the noisy parts. Breakfast was fine, with quality products and service, though nothing fancy. I guess it's a 3-star hotel because of the services on offer. I've stayed in 4-star places in France, the UK, and the US that deserved a lower rating than this one.

The room was a good size and clean, and breakfast had a pretty wide selection. This 3-star hotel deserves a higher rating. The website booking system had some bugs, though. I called to try to book, and when I switched the site language to English, the booking box disappeared. Maybe that's why I eventually got two rooms despite the short notice. Cadaques is so picturesque, and we'll definitely visit again.
