Plazuela del Carbón Suites

For the price, this was one of the best apartments I’ve had. I’d stay again, and parking isn’t far away.

They had my bus ticket printed and waiting for me before I arrived, which I really appreciated. After hours check-in also went smoothly. The coffee maker didn’t work when I got there, but the woman fixed it the next morning. I was on the ground floor at the back, by a pedestrian alley, on a Saturday night. People partying outside sounded like they were in the room with me, and the noise went on until about 4 a.m. Maybe it would have been better on another night, but knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

It’s a beautiful building, with a generously sized room and everything within walking distance. But there’s a late night bar or club on the street, and the shouting, singing, and screaming carries on until 4:30 or 5 in the morning. With checkout at 10 a.m., we got hardly any sleep, just like other reviewers mentioned. Without the street noise, I’d have given it five stars. They need to address it, because a good night’s sleep matters for a hotel like this.

A great place to stay. The complimentary service was better than what I’ve had at 5-star hotels.
