Hotel Antiga

There are a couple of food shops nearby, and a parking area about 100 meters away that always had free spaces. The host was really nice, the place was quiet, and the rooms were well equipped and spacious enough.

The rooms were uncomfortably tiny, even for one person. On Booking.com, there was just one room photo while the other pictures showed the shared areas, and I felt that left out how small the rooms really were. Parking was also very inconvenient to get to, and they tried to charge me €15 a day for it. I refused because that cost hadn't been mentioned before my stay. Otherwise, the hotel is beautiful, but I felt misled about both the parking fee and the room size. The front desk attendant asked me to pay them directly at checkout instead of through Booking.com, so now I can't leave this review there to warn other travelers. I think businesses that handle things this way are best avoided.

I stayed at Hotel Antiga for two nights a few years ago and had a great time. The hotel has a peaceful feel that made the stay both pleasant and distinctive. I really hope I get another chance to visit soon.

The local neighborhood was a real plus if you want to practice Spanish, get a feel for the culture, and chat with locals. Breakfast was good for the price, the receptionists were friendly and helpful, and they spoke English. The beach was a 20-25 minute walk away. There were a few cafés nearby, and the hotel had a nice garden and clean pool. My room had air conditioning and a TV, and it was cleaned daily. A few things could be better: food smells lingered in the lobby and entrance, there was no safe for a passport or money and no mini fridge for drinks. The walls were thin enough that we could hear people snoring or laughing loudly. Cleaning was supposed to happen between 12 and 3, but sometimes it was done earlier. I enjoyed the stay and had fun. I hope they improve the rooms more in future.
