Macdonald Doña Lola Rental, Málaga, Spain

We had a spacious two-bedroom apartment in Martha-2 on the fourth floor, with lovely sea views. It was nicely furnished, and the kitchen had plenty of appliances and utensils. The landscaped gardens were a pleasure, with a seaside walkway close by, while motorway access was easy and Malaga town centre about 35 minutes away. The facilities were all excellent: restaurant and club house, laundry, gym, and indoor and outdoor pools. Parking near our block was always easy to find. Staff were very friendly, and there are good restaurants and convenience stores just outside. We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend it for families.

We've stayed for a week, then returned for another week in a different apartment. The place is well kept, and the paths, pool area and walkways were cleaned up and repaired promptly after a major storm. The setting right by the boardwalk is what makes Dona Lola special, with room to walk for miles. It's beautiful. The apartments differ in quality depending on their location and whether they've been renovated, though all were maintained well. The resort dates back to around the 1970s. One thing to know: every unit is reached by stairs. Most are in three- or four-storey buildings with no lifts, and the hillside setting makes access hard for anyone with mobility problems. Internet was great, and satellite TV had UK English and plenty of international channels. We enjoyed both stays.

The resort is peaceful and lovely, and getting around is convenient. The bus stop is only a few minutes away.

We had a very relaxing stay in this well-kept complex, with easy access to the pool. The boardwalks beside it make for a great location. I'd highly recommend staying here.
