The room was okay and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s right on the Camino, close to cafes, and there’s a restaurant open at certain times plus a breakfast bar in the morning. Watch the staircase, some steps aren’t even. I’d probably stay here again, though I’m not rushing back. Most of my pictures are views out the windows and inside the restaurant.

The power cut in the morning meant no breakfast or Wi-Fi, which made this a huge waste of money for pilgrims. We also found the included 30-minute Balnea Murmurante indoor pool session too cool to be worthwhile, with the water at 34-37 degrees. I wish we’d known you could use the outdoor pools for 13 euros without booking a room.

Before we arrived, I got a message asking me to pay for the booking. It was a scam, but it included all my booking details, which makes me wonder how secure the hotel’s system is. Our room was actually a damp, cold cabin in the back garden, not in the hotel.

I only needed a quick soak as a pilgrim, and the person at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. I’d recommend people visit for the spa even if that’s all they come for.

The bed was like a rock, there were no blankets, and the rooms were especially rundown. No shampoo or other amenities, rusty taps and furniture, and a smoke detector that didn’t work. Silva at the front desk was terribly rude, and I was charged for an extra bath towel. I’ve never had that happen at a hotel. Worst experience, think twice before booking.
