Mas Teixidor, Masia entre Girona y la Costa Brava

There’s a train station within walking distance, which made it handy for trips to Girona and Barcelona. It’s also a good base for seeing the region, including Sa Tuna and Llafranc. We were a family of four staying for a week, and Nani and his family were very welcoming and helpful. The apartment was clean and had what we needed, though some furniture could use updating. The larger house is lovely, the grounds are cared for, and the swimming pool is a good size.

The town, Caldes Malavella, is about a 20-minute walk and well worth seeing. It's pretty, friendly and fascinating, an old Roman spa town. We also enjoyed a swim in the outdoor pool, with its beautiful views, and breakfast was great. They handled our vegetarian diet without any trouble. We had an easy drive from Girona airport and appreciated having somewhere peaceful to rest after flying in from Helsinki. The building is spacious and restored with lots of wood and interesting details. There are shared library, pool and children's play rooms, among other spaces, and the bedrooms are spread out enough to feel private. Our room and bathroom were clean, comfortable and cool with a ceiling fan. There are radiators for winter, plus free covered outdoor parking. The owner and staff were friendly, and we loved the three dogs who welcomed a stroke but didn't bother anyone. We saw the cat too!

The owners were so friendly and cooked some of the best food we had on our holiday. The house is beautiful, with lovely art and thoughtful touches throughout the rooms. Our kids had a great time exploring and playing with the dogs. My daughter even swam on her own for the first time in the pool, and they loved swimming after dark with the lights on. We only stayed one night after a coast holiday and loved it. We hope to return for longer. Thanks for the memories.

The family running Mas Teixidor made the stay especially good. They were warm, welcoming and accommodating, and have kept the place's history and character while continuing to grow their vision. The property itself is great, with nicely decorated common areas and options like swimming, pool and table tennis. My room was clean, spacious and full of character. It's in a peaceful spot, around an hour by train from Barcelona and a 10-15 minute walk into Caldes de Malvella. I spent two nights there in mid October and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to slow down and relax.
