Park Hotel San Jorge & Spa by Escampa Hotels

The views over the cala were spectacular, and the hotel has direct beach and coastal path access. We had a good one-night family getaway overall, and the men at reception were incredibly helpful when I arrived a day before our booking. Our king bed was large and comfortable, though the room and bathroom looked and felt very old, including the mirror and furniture. While we were at lunch, someone opened the sofa bed, which took up almost all the remaining space. We hadn't asked for that, since our 4-year-old sleeps in bed with us. The bar restaurant food was average and a little pricey. At dinner, the server got two of our four dishes wrong, though we were happy with the food. I couldn't use the gym because there was no Wi-Fi or mobile signal to load my workout program; it wasn't very clean either, and only small face towels were available. None of the electric car charging stations worked for us. You need to fill a jug in your room using the hotel's water stations, but that didn't bother us. It's a good choice if you don't mind the older rooms, since the views are amazing.

A nice resort for relaxing, with a beautiful view. The view was the best part, but we had a bad experience with cluster flies in our room. Breakfast was food on European standard.

The only drawback for us was the bed, which seemed a bit old compared with the rest of the lovely hotel. The Mediterranean views are gorgeous, and the hotel areas, beach access and walking trails along the sea are all very nice. The pool is fabulous, set up well for a relaxing day, and breakfast is plentiful and very good.

Housekeeping was the bright spot. They made us feel welcome, while most of the reception and bar staff seemed very tired and burned out, and weren't welcoming. The pool was full of algae on our first day; over the next two days the water was so dark that nobody wanted to get in. We kept asking the pool staff member, who said maintenance would sort it out. Overall, the stay was average and didn't feel like a four-star hotel at all. It does have great views, paid parking, pet-friendly policies and Loccitane toiletries.
