Hotel Porto Calpe

The hotel was right at the harbour, with quite a few restaurants, cafes, and even a shoe shop nearby. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the place was clean. Breakfast had a good choice, both hot and continental. Local buses and trains were close by. Our Jet2 transfer via Benidorm took two and a half hours.

Reception staff were really nice, efficient, and spoke good English. It’s a lovely hotel, with spacious, clean rooms and nice sea view rooms. The location near calpe port is good for restaurants and walks up Calpe rock. Great value for money too. I’d recommend this hotel.

Breakfast had loads to choose from, and the restaurant beside the hotel was handy too. The staff were cheerful and really helpful. Great spot, with some fantastic fish restaurants just across the road.

The beach sunbeds were the one real downside for us: 10 euros each, plus 10 euros for an umbrella, so 30 euros a day. If you're there more than a few days, a chair and umbrella from a local shop makes more sense. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Porto Calpe and would definitely return. It's a quiet place with only a small pool area, about a 20-minute walk from the busier part of town. Our room faced the sea and had a balcony. It was an okay size, the beds were very comfortable, and we slept well. With the windows shut, there was no road noise. The TV had a few British channels, which was a bonus, though they seemed to break up after 10.30 at night, so don't start a film at 10! There was a mini fridge and a free safe, and they gave us a kettle at no charge when we asked. The bathroom was well equipped, with nice toiletries and a powerful shower. The maid did a great job. Breakfast had plenty of choice in a bright room, and the woman looking after guests there was friendly and helpful. Reception staff were welcoming too. Anastasia was especially helpful. We also spoke with an older woman and a man whose names we didn't catch, and they were both very nice.
