The beach, shops, bars and restaurants are only a few minutes away on foot, and this pension is great value. We've stayed six times and will definitely come back. The owners are lovely, friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. I like the walk-in shower with somewhere to put shampoo and gel, instead of having to leave them on the floor. There's a mini fridge in the room for drinks, plus a shelf in the big shared fridge and freezer. You can use the kitchen too, with a microwave and toaster available. We'd recommend staying here.

Restaurants line the street, and supermarkets are close by. This nice pension occupies a whole floor of an apartment building near the small beach. Everything was clean each day. There's a shared kitchen with a fridge and freezer, and a small fridge in the room as well.

Just 200mtr from the beach, Pension EI Hidalgo is a great, reasonably priced place for a break in Calpe. The room was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped, with a TV, kettle, air conditioning, ceiling fan and a lovely shower room. The beds were very comfortable. There's a full communal kitchen and a terrace sitting area, both clean and tidy. Private parking nearby costs €4 per day. All in all, excellent.

My room had sea views and a terrace. The mattress and pillow were good, and everything was very clean, bathroom included. Nothing felt unpleasant or off-putting. The kitchen could use a little improvement, but it did the job.

The location is pleasant and quiet, close to the sea and places to eat, but I can't recommend this place. We arrived at 1 PM and the room still wasn't ready, despite check-in being at noon, and they offered no compensation. Customer service was nonexistent, with staff nowhere to be found. The room was unclean, the towels were awful and not fit to give to guests, there was no soap, and the hairdryer didn't work. On the first day someone entered our room, though there are no occupied or available signs. I still don't know why, since they didn't do anything at all, not even change the towels.
