Apartamentos Turmalina

We’ve just had a week here and enjoyed every minute. The complex and pool area were spotless, and the staff were all pleasant, friendly, and helpful. It was a relaxed holiday without any hassle, with shops, restaurants, bars, and the beach right nearby. A fabulous area for a break. We’ll be back for a longer stay. Five stars for Apartmentos Turmalina!

The block is in a great spot, right by the beach and close to Ifac Rock, which is spectacular. The beach is fantastic, Blue Flag quality, and information boards around the resort explain the history of the town and nearby areas. Calpe has something for different tastes. My advice is to drive 20 minutes past Benidorm and add a little culture to your holiday. We stayed at Apartaments Turmalina for a week from 27th April. That felt a little early in the season, as bars and restaurants were still opening. Our room was basic but clean and well equipped. There’s no maid service, so you clean as you go, which suited us fine. Think of it as Spanish Air B&B, with some apartments used as homes and the rest as holiday lets. Reception staff were always available and dealt with issues almost straight away. We had a bathroom leak on day one, and by that evening they’d installed a new tap and waste system. Thanks to everyone at Apartaments Turmalina, we’ll be back.

The terrace was unusable from 1 pm to 9 pm because there were no awnings, and it was horribly hot. The apartment was much smaller than the photos suggested. Inside, cupboard doors, washing machine door handles, and the extractor hood were broken. The sofas were torn, the cushions dirty, and the photos showed cushions and placemats that weren’t there. We also found poor quality outdoor furniture that was old and unusable, and a broken curtain rod left on the table. There were only two steak knives for six people, and Calpe had 25 cranes, with construction noise everywhere. The apartment smelled of sewage too. What a disgrace to rent out a supposedly state-of-the-art place in that condition. I absolutely don’t recommend it.
