Hotel Gabarda

I returned with friends who had stayed last year, though I could only manage five nights after a two-week trip to Turkey with my husband three weeks earlier. My friends stayed for seven nights. We had breakfast included and ate there every day. There was a good selection, and the bar prices were reasonable, as were the snacks. The bar had a lovely atmosphere for a drink before heading out or after coming back. I stayed in a room in the Gil section. It was smaller, as you'd expect for a solo traveller, but perfectly adequate, with a kettle, fridge and good-sized balcony above the pizza restaurant. I'm a balcony person and enjoyed sitting out there morning and evening. The sun reached it in the afternoon and evening. The pool is fairly small, but fine for a dip to cool off. There are several beds around it, and even though the sun didn't reach the pool until about 12:30, we could always get a lounger and table or chair. The staff were fabulous, every person we met was helpful and went out of their way. They may be the best hotel staff I've come across. The place was clean, modern and friendly, with excellent value for a two-star hotel. It's centrally located, with easy access to the beach, seafront bars and other spots. I'd absolutely return. Well done to everyone who made my stay so enjoyable and relaxing.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the cleaners did a thorough job. Breakfast was lovely, with more choice than I expected, including bakery items and soya milk, which I really appreciated. The hotel is in a great spot, about a five- or six-minute walk from the beach, with lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby. Really loved it and would definitely recommend.

This family-run hotel has some of the friendliest, most helpful staff, and we loved the freshly cooked breakfasts. The rooms were good, with excellent air conditioning and comfortable beds. If you have mobility issues, bear in mind there's no lift to the upper floors. We didn't have that problem, but it's worth mentioning.

We were five minutes on foot from the beach and restaurants. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel felt lovely and cozy, with a good bar and a pool. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and there was air conditioning. Breakfast came from a menu rather than a buffet, but the food was very good.
