Apartaments Voralmar - Mas D'en Gran, Cambrils, Costa Dorada, España

The hosts were quick to help when we needed something, and their service was great. Our apartment was clean and lovely, and access was easy. A beautiful place in a really nice location.

With the beach so close, the location worked really well for a family. The sand is golden and the water shallow, great for kids. There’s a pool too, and the building sits in a fenced yard that feels safe. Restaurants, bars, and food markets are nearby. Book the apartment parking in advance, it’s highly recommended since street parking gets packed.

Cleanliness really stood out. There wasn’t a speck of dust, and I saw no insects. On day seven, we were told the cleaning staff would come by, which showed how much Voralmar cares about keeping things clean. The apartment was cool when we arrived and had new furniture, comfortable beds, supportive, thick mattresses, and mostly excellent modern appliances. The balcony was roomy enough for six people to have breakfast or relax. The washer worked, but it was noisy during the spin cycle and woke me up twice; it also has no water heater. There’s no dryer, though the clothesline fits on the balcony. The microwave, oven, induction hob, dishwasher, and coffee machine were all up to or beyond expectations. There was also a toaster, cutlery and cooking utensils for six, pans, and a saucepan. A new scourer, spare garbage bag, cleaning cloth, and dish soap were provided by the sink. The electronic lock was a real help after our delayed flight from Barcelona airport got us in around 2am. We received the keycode 24 hours beforehand, and it worked first time. Communication was always handled within hours, sometimes minutes. The pool area was pleasant, and the pool was clean and a good size for the number of people there. It was quite cold in September, though, so it didn’t really feel like swimming season. The location is hard to beat, just metres from the beach, with restaurants and shops within 5 kilometres. The bus stop is only 20 metres away, with quick rides to nearby villages like Salou and La Pineda. My one gripe was with the city, not the apartment. Some streets smelled strongly of trash, and after rain there could be a sewage smell in the air. Turning on the air conditioning sometimes brought that smell inside, which was a shame. Even so, if I return to Cambrils or Salou, I’d stay at Voralmar again without hesitation.

The beach is close, and there are shops and bike rentals nearby.
