Villa La Perla

The pool was wonderful, the cats and dogs were adorable, and the staff were okay. We did have cockroaches in our room every night, though. We figured out they were coming up through the shower drain. The staff treated the room with anti-cockroach products and did their job really well, so I don’t blame them. I recommend the place.

We were really looking forward to our Tenerife holiday, so not being able to fly there after a nationwide strike was devastating. The airline couldn’t arrange another flight for the whole month, probably because of the approaching Easter holidays. After hours of searching, we couldn’t find a suitable flight with another airline from any of the airports we could use. The cancellation terms only let us cancel up to four weeks before arrival. We asked the hosts if we could move the booking to another date, including later in the year, and would have accepted any option. They said this wasn’t possible because they already had many bookings. We would have been glad to get even a small amount back, even just 5 euros for the water bottles they’d planned to offer us, which we no longer needed. Losing the holiday was painful enough, and the lack of goodwill or understanding from the hostess made it worse. We’re shocked that the hospitality stopped when money was involved, and unfortunately can’t recommend booking with them.

The hosts were so warm and welcoming, and it made this a great place to stay.

You can tell a lot of thought went into the details, both inside and out. The place was clean and well equipped, and Caroline and Christian were friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with. We had a lovely time.
