La Casa de La Panadería

The layout and heating were the main drawbacks for us. The cottage covers the second and third floors of a three-story building. Nobody lives on the first floor, and it can’t be used. There are three bedrooms and a toilet on the second floor, then the living room, kitchen, another toilet, and the remaining bedroom upstairs. The stairs are very narrow and steep, and getting to the cottage is difficult. The hallway to the second floor is so narrow it can even be dangerous when carrying a heavy load up or down. There’s a fireplace, but you’ll need to bring firewood from home. The basket provided is very small. The website says there’s heating, which is true, but guests can’t control it. The owner has it programmed and turns it off in the morning, so it can even feel cold in this mountain village with snow and ice. The double-glazed windows are wooden, and air gets into many rooms, making them very cold. On the plus side, the owner leaves you alone, and there’s free Wi-Fi and Netflix, though the internet isn’t very good. The cottage has four bedrooms: one with two 1.05m beds, two with 1.35m beds, and one with 2.00m beds. It’s right in the center of Candelario, so you can get around town easily without a car, and there’s plenty of parking despite the central location.

Everything else was perfect, though I’d only suggest improving the mattresses and pillows :). We had a lovely weekend and highly recommend the experience, from the accommodation and location to the food and the warm welcome from everyone we met in Candelario. We’ll be back.

Every room faces outside, with a breathtaking view. The house is authentic, full of beautiful details, and exquisitely decorated. Even the embroidered sheets and towels, tablecloths, and tableware felt special. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the service was wonderful. A perfect house for a perfect weekend 😊😊
