B&B Casa Lobera

We spent a whole week at Casa Lobera and already miss it. Marcel and Sandra welcomed us warmly. They’re friendly and hospitable, and replied quickly to our emails and WhatsApp messages. We stayed in Casa Zorro. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, with coffee, tea, and other basic necessities ready for us. There was even a bottle of sangria to get us into the Spanish atmosphere. The beds were very comfortable, with good mattresses and duvets. The view was phenomenal, and we had plenty of privacy. The road up to the house is newly paved and, despite the hills, made for a pleasant drive. Casa Zorro has air conditioning, which we didn’t need in February, though it would likely make things more comfortable inside during summer. Our children enjoyed the nice playground with a swimming pool. The private pool at Casa Zorro was open during our February spring break, but it was still a bit too chilly for a swim. It should be great for cooling off in summer. We could walk to the picturesque village of Canillas de Aceituno in 15-20 minutes. There are two bakeries, a small supermarket for everyday needs, and lovely restaurants for dinner. For more shopping, El Ingenio shopping center in Velez Malaga has lots of stores, including well-known chains, plus an Eroski hypermarket. You can also refuel there, and fuel prices are reasonable. We visited plenty of sights from Casa Lobera during the week: the Alhambra, Granada, Ronda, Cordoba, Mijas, Marbella, and Malaga. Malaga Airport is about a 50-minute drive away. We spent a lovely, peaceful week here. Eating outside in the mild weather was great, then we’d lounge, swing, or read while watching the sunset. The cottage had everything we needed and is a great choice if you want to get away for a while. The nearby village is walkable, and there are lovely mountain walks. With Marcel’s help and a discount, we rented a car and reached the beach in half an hour. A wonderful stay, and thanks for all the tips!

The road to the cottage is quite an adventure, but an SUV handles it easily. At the end, you reach an oasis of tranquility. Casa Zorro was fully equipped and very neat when we arrived, and the owners gave us a warm, personal welcome. We had a fantastic stay at Casa Lobera, with our own private pool as well as the shared pool for the four cottages. It’s also ideally placed for visiting the sights of Southern Spain. We gave Casa Lobera, Marcel, and Sandra a big 10! The nature was overwhelming, but the peace and quiet stood out even more. Even our children found it a special experience. We went on beautiful walks and enjoyed the spacious pool and ping-pong table among the olive trees. There was a sunset view every evening, and we slept in a roomy, comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked perfectly. It took 15-20 minutes to walk to the charming village, where plenty of Spanish people were around. Last summer we had a problem because we’d forgotten our credit card and had to give up on the car we’d already booked. Marcel sorted it out for us. Without a car, you can’t get anywhere, and he spent 45 minutes getting there and back. Such a huge relief, thanks again, Marcel! Casa Lobera is a fantastic holiday spot.
