Canyamar Beach Hotel

The WiFi in our room didn't work, which added to an already bad stay. The room felt damp and worn out, and there was visible mold in the shower. The photos in the listing didn't match what we found. It looked like the rooms were well past their best, though a few small improvements could make the place comfortable again. It also wasn't properly clean: squashed mosquitoes were on the walls and ceiling. Breakfast cost 12 euros per person and was very meager. We were surprised to have to share one avocado with other guests. On the last day we skipped breakfast because it just wasn't worth it. The host threatened to have our car towed, even though a car with German plates was allowed to park that evening without any issue. When we brought up our concerns, the host reported us to Airbnb, falsely saying we were being noisy, even though we weren't at the property then. After we explained, Airbnb apologized for the unjust accusation. Once we'd left a review, the host threatened legal action and began sending harassing messages to my private phone the day after we got home. Airbnb had sided with us after acknowledging the photo evidence we provided. The host's rude, unprofessional behavior made it seem like she wanted to cause us trouble, and that she couldn't take criticism or the truth. Anyone who points out problems seems to be met with hostility. I definitely don't recommend staying here, and hope other guests have a better experience.
