Hostal Montesol

Good value for the price, as long as you keep your expectations modest. It’s the Chevy hotel’s budget sister, and some amenities are shared. The pool is excellent, breakfast is great, and I liked that inflatables were provided at the pool. The bathroom is tiny but works fine. It’s simple, with everything you need.

We booked through booking.com and got confirmation from the hotel, but when we arrived the building was closed, nobody answered the phone, and we could see through the windows that it was being renovated. We went to the other place where check-in was meant to happen, but that was the same story. Then we spent more than two and a half hours on the phone with booking.com trying to sort it out. I hope they never reopen with this level of service. EDIT: And f*ck you, you f*cking a**holes. Now we have to wait 7 to 10 business days to get our money back.

The room was clean and the location was good. At this time of year, parking was easy. Breakfast was great and included, served at the hotel just down the road. The shower was the downside.

A very cheap hostal, with a pleasant atmosphere, a nice balcony, and a lovely cleaner. The toilet and sink were wobbly, the toilet roll holder kept falling off, and each of us had one bad pillow. It’s somewhere to sleep.
