The location depends on what you want from a trip. Capdepara is quite a journey from most other parts of the island, so it may not suit you if you like exploring. By car it’s about 1h15 to Palma, 1h30 to Soller, and surprisingly more than an hour to Alcudia. If you’re happy staying in town, though, there are loads of restaurants and a few nice beaches. For the price we paid, I felt the hotel was reasonable value, and I’ve stayed in much worse places that cost more. I did enjoy my stay despite the drawbacks, but I think the hotel should be clearer and more honest about the Spa, especially on third-party booking sites. If the owners fixed it and tidied up the more worn areas, this could be a great place to stay. The staff were mostly great. The activities coordinator, who I think was called Jordi, was especially nice and went out of his way to make sure everyone was enjoying their stay. He even chatted with us at the bar on his day off. The food tasted excellent, although there wasn’t as much choice as at other all-inclusive hotels I’ve stayed in. Parking was easy on the street or in a free public car park a minute’s walk away. The Spa is closed and, from what I heard and saw, doesn’t look likely to reopen soon. Staff have been told to blame Covid, but it clearly needs work. Some parts of the hotel are lovely, while others look tired. There’s an abandoned tennis court out back with no net, the squash courts have become a children’s playroom, and the outdoor area beside the pool has more weeds than grass. The all-inclusive drinks menu is limited too, with few cocktails and only a handful of spirits, with no option to pay a supplement.

The staff work really hard, the hotel is clean, and the food is fresh and tasty. It’s in a quiet spot, though only a short walk from some lovely beaches. The rooms are clean and modern, but the bathroom felt a bit tired. I’d call it more of a three-star place than four, but it isn’t priced like a four-star hotel. If you want a nice hotel that’s good value, this is the place.

Once we got to know the area, it turned out to be a perfect location. A ten-minute walk in any direction took us to quite different places. The hotel has what you need for a pleasant stay, and there was always plenty of food. We stayed all-inclusive a couple of times, and the staff were very good, especially in the dining room. Once the wine had run out, but after I told a staff member it was quickly topped up. Would I stay again? Yes.

We booked at the last minute without knowing much about the place and couldn’t be happier. The hotel is clean and runs efficiently, one street from a very pretty town. The food was exceptional and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location would be hard to beat. Three different beaches are a fifteen-minute walk away, and in ten minutes you can reach lots of shops, a beautiful harbour, the promenade, and restaurants.

It’s the staff who make this hotel. They regularly went above and beyond, and with my Coeliac disease I was treated like a king. Nothing was too much trouble for them, apart from Jesus. The kids club was great, as were the gym and both the indoor and outdoor pools. The gorgeous beach and harbour were literally five minutes away. There was a room where you could get beer, water, coke/sprite, coffee, tea, rolls, ham, and fruit, so you didn’t have to queue at the bar. The room we had was a little tired, but it had everything we needed and was cleaned every day. The rest of the hotel was spotless. On the hotel itself, I’d give it 3.5 to four stars, but for the staff it’s an easy five. They were so helpful that I’m going to write to Coeliac uk to recommend the place.
