I went with my three brothers, and the views made the trip worthwhile. The owner was really kind and friendly. Just be prepared to walk up and down hills around town. We had an incredible time.

Ana and her husband clearly do their best to make guests happy. We were given a warm welcome, and the time there became one of our best holiday memories. The house is old and original, with a lovely atmosphere, set in a small, amazing mountain village. It felt like real Spain. After a tiring year of work and daily life, we found everything we needed to rest. Breakfast with a view like the one at Catifalarga is probably hard to beat. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and charming without noisy people around, this is the place to go. It was the best time we’ve had in Spain, and we didn’t want to leave.

Dinner came with an unexpected flamenco show, and chef Joaquin’s food was amazing. The views are breathtaking too. Kike and his crew made us feel completely welcome during a lovely weekend at this beautiful, unusual country hotel in the Alpujarras. I’d recommend it to anyone after a special experience.

Our stay was really unpleasant, and the service was disappointing. The room had no proper ventilation and stayed stifling at night, even with the French window open. That let mosquitos in and made things worse. We raised it with the owner, but he dismissed our concerns. He said there were no mosquitos at 1600 meters and that it was 21 degrees outside, which didn’t match how hot the room felt. We even showed video evidence of the mosquitos, but he still brushed us off. I think a host should care about guests’ comfort and listen to their feedback. Instead, the owner was rude and said he wasn’t our “slave.” That was extremely disappointing from someone running tourist accommodation. He also said he didn’t care about reviews because he already had many positive ones. I wanted to share what happened and hope he takes the feedback seriously and makes improvements.
