Puente Piedra

The owners are friendly and caring, and the house, garden, and pool are all tidy and well maintained. It’s right among the olive groves, with nature all around; we enjoyed seeing swallows on the windowsill, and you can walk through the groves to the village. The approach is along about a kilometer of unpaved road. It also isn’t completely quiet: neighbors across the road had a party on our first night, dogs bark regularly, and work in the olive grove is occasionally noisy. I’d recommend this holiday home, though it may not suit anyone especially protective of their car or looking for total silence.

The one disappointment was that we didn’t get to see the waterfall working. It would have been relaxing to watch. Otherwise, our May 14-16, 2021 stay was fantastic. There were six of us, four adults and two children, and the house had everything we could need. The garden was in glorious bloom, and the clean pool was in perfect condition for swimming. Toñi was a perfect host. We’ll definitely return. A 10 out of 10!

Eight friends and I had a wonderful weekend in this welcoming, well-equipped country house in Carcabuey. It had all the kitchenware and small appliances we needed, including an electric griddle, blender, and hairdryer. The fireplace and heaters in every room made it cozy, and the barbecue was fantastic; the owners supplied the firewood. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place surrounded by nature, quiet at night, and reached by a short track through an olive grove. We also went hiking near Zuheros on a moderately difficult trail with spectacular views that leads to La Nava (Cabra). And the mattress in the blue room deserves a mention: brand new and enormous. We’ll definitely be back.
