I wouldn’t book here again. The power went out several times during my week-long stay, and the owner was horrible to me after I filed a complaint with the booking agent. Guests should never be threatened. I felt unsafe and wouldn’t recommend the place. Apart from that, it was just okay. There were no cleaning products in the kitchen, no fan for the heat, and the street was so noisy that sleeping with the windows open wasn’t possible.

Samuel, the guy in charge, was as helpful as could be. The apartments were lovely and had about everything I needed. I liked the village setting too, and I’d stay here again.

Corao makes a smart base for exploring the area. It’s a peaceful village with easy access from the AS-114, and you can get around without the traffic and congestion that affect Covadonga and Cangas de Onís in summer. Cangas de Onís is only five minutes away, and the views of the Picos de Europa are exceptional. You’re close to the Sanctuary of Covadonga and the road up to the lakes. Corao is also on the route to Cabrales; about halfway to Ortiguero, there’s a junction for Posada de Llanes and the Cantabrian Highway. There’s a lot within easy reach, without the stress of staying right in the middle of it all. An exceptional location.
