Valle Del Río Piedra

We were exhausted after hours of travel and ended up having to find a hostel 30 minutes away. We’d booked for August 14th through Booking.com two days earlier, and everything seemed fine until we reached the hotel. They’d sent a cancellation request that morning, but we didn’t see or accept it because we were traveling. No one was there to help, and they weren’t answering their phones. The room key was in the door, so we went inside and waited nearly an hour for someone to arrive. My boyfriend messaged them on WhatsApp to say we’d entered. In less than half an hour, the owner’s partner arrived, or at least I think that was who it was, and told us we had to leave immediately. They left us stranded after a long trip, to fend for ourselves. It was incredibly disrespectful and made no sense at all. What a disappointment.

Our ground-floor apartment was fully equipped, and Eva was incredibly kind and attentive. With a one-year-old, we felt relaxed because the apartment was all flat for her to move around freely, and there was a playroom downstairs. Everything was perfect for us and super clean. Our little one's knees don't lie, haha.

The stay was pleasant and everything was easy. There’s no cell phone coverage, though, and you can hear footsteps from the upstairs rooms and the rooms next door. The lack of soundproofing takes away from privacy.

The house and gardens have lots of thoughtful touches, and it was very peaceful. The shared areas are nice, with a barbecue and an outdoor oven.
