Tara Casa

Really welcoming little place, with a warm feel inside even though we came in winter. It was very clean, and the breakfast was amazing. They were happy to accommodate us, and I’d book again.

The mosaic lessons were the highlight for me. There were four of us, and Dan shared his knowledge in such a relaxed way that we all enjoyed ourselves and left with mosaics we felt proud of. I also had some lovely dinners cooked by Dan as part of the full package. Every meal felt restaurant quality, and the desserts were delicious. Viv and Dan made my week at Tara Casa relaxing and fun. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Before I arrived, they gave me useful advice. During the stay, Viv recommended and arranged a local yoga session by the pool, followed by a fireside reflection, which I really enjoyed. She also arranged a therapeutic massage with Carlos, who came to us. His experience really helped with a hip problem I’d been having, and I’m so grateful. Dan also took us to the beaches and into Cartagena, both of which were lovely.

I stopped here for a night while cycling from Prague to Tangier. After the rush of the ride, the peaceful atmosphere helped me settle down. Even sweaty and stinky, I felt welcome. There are lots of little details around the house to admire, plus a big pool. I met some interesting fellow guests too, not the usual beach seekers. And Dan’s a very good cook. UPDATE: I made it to Tangier in the end, though it wasn’t easy.

The real highlight of this Casa Rural was the hosts, Dan and Vivian. They did a lot to make us feel welcome, and even let us watch a special programme on their TV, which was a huge help. The place is as described, and their hospitality and artistic creativity made the stay worth recommending. Full marks 👏👏
