Hostal las Encinas

The beds were very comfortable, and the price for what we got seemed fair. We were traveling from the north toward Cádiz and just needed a place to rest before continuing. Our room and bathroom were clean. The air conditioning was old, but it worked, which mattered in the heat.

The smell of urine hit us when we walked in. In the bathroom, urine was running down from the sink all the way to the floor. It was horrible, dirty, and unsanitary. I know we’d paid cheaply for one night halfway through our journey, and I realize it’s a hostel with old facilities, but that doesn’t excuse this level of dirt. We lost our money when we saw the place, but left. I wouldn’t sleep there, even if I were crazy. It’s the dirtiest place I’ve ever been.

We found plenty of parking inside and outside the hostel, and it’s in a good spot in a very quiet area. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the beds comfortable. Both staff members, in the cafeteria and looking after the rooms, were friendly and attentive. Recommended for the value.

We stopped for sandwiches on our way and ordered four ham ones. Each came with just one slice of ham and loads of bread. Disgraceful. The guy was rude and unpleasant, and acted annoyed that we’d stopped to spend money there. One star just because I had to give it something.
