The quiet mountain feel of Casarejos was lovely, and I felt completely safe staying alone with my expensive bike downstairs. The door had a solid lock, there were security cameras around, and the owners live next door. I was surprised by the harsh comments on Google because none of that matched my stay. I came in soaked and freezing after the last 4 km in icy rain. Sara & David welcomed me with hot coffee and a seat by the log fire in the salon. I’m in my mid 60s and touring Spain by bike, and the two nights here gave me exactly the rest I needed. The room was roomy, with a comfortable bed, extra cushions, and an armchair. The bathroom was small but well equipped, and the shower had lovely hot water and strong pressure. The whole place is charmingly decorated with old wares, black and white photos of local family and community events, and lots of attention to detail. Marcos looked after me at breakfast in the beautiful restaurant room and set my table near the fire. I’d happily recommend La Posada Real de los Carreteros to tired cyclists, families wanting an old fashioned feel, or couples looking for a romantic break.

Everyone working here made us feel grateful for their care. The food was delicious, especially the grilled meats they specialize in, and they were glad to accommodate vegans and people with food intolerances. Our room was spacious, and we slept wonderfully. Thanks for everything.

The setting is a little paradise, with what you need nearby for sightseeing, cycling, hikes, and exploring the area. Everything was spotless, and the homemade food was a real treat. Dani and Sara welcomed us so warmly that we felt like family. I’ll be back at least once a year. A million thanks!

We had a memorable dinner here with the band during the festival, and they served us kindly even though it was late. The restaurant is beautiful, and the food was all delicious: ratatouille with egg, macaroni, and beans to start, then grilled tuna belly, Iberian pork shoulder, and sirloin with grilled tomato, peppers, and potatoes. We chose custard, flan, and cheesecake for dessert, all absolutely delicious. The meal was very reasonably priced, and the daily set menu is €12.90. We’ll come back and stay overnight next time.

The rosemary flan the waiter suggested was amazing. Service was friendly and impeccable, and the ravioli was easily the best I’ve ever eaten.
