Hostal Cassà

I only stopped for a few hours because we were exhausted from driving, and I didn't expect much from the service. Still, I'd rather sleep in the car, in an ATM, or on cardboard than stay here again. The smell was bad, the sheets were dirty and ripped, and the mattress springs nearly went through my back. The bed creaked, and around 4 a.m. something like a compressor started making noise. The decor, including the basement, was completely neglected, and the window curtains were shower curtains. There were cats when I visited, as other people have mentioned. That doesn't bother me much; I suppose they're there to eat the other animals. Seriously, run away. The bill situation was no good either, with the charge separate. I guess they rely on tired drivers, because I'd look elsewhere even if it were free. Those positive reviews can't be real.

Disgusting place with a cat smell. The washing machine is shared and there's no detergent. Watch where you brush up against things.

The whole experience was awful, and I wouldn't recommend this hostel at all. It's old and dirty, with cats everywhere and a bad smell throughout. The sheets were filthy and torn. It felt like being in "The Shining." I was there for work and asked for a receipt when I arrived. They said it would cost an extra €45. Then my bag was stolen with the hostel key inside, and the woman charged me €33 to copy two keys. I don't know how places like this end up on Booking.com.

A grimy, run-down hotel with a cat urine smell. Even for one night, it's disgraceful.
