Hotel Civis Jaime I

We came two days before a bike competition hoping to rest, but the heat made that impossible. The AC was disconnected, the windows barely opened, and even after asking several times we couldn't get a fan or another way to cool the room. We both got sick from the heat and lack of sleep, then had to exercise the next day. It affected our health and performance. Sound carried from outside and other rooms, and someone opened our door while we were resting. I can't understand why this is recommended for a competition.

For the price, the rooms are perfectly good, clean, and close to the city center. I could hear everything happening in the corridor through the thin walls, but I was only there to sleep, so it wasn't a big issue. It's not luxury, but it does the job.

The restaurant was a highlight: breakfast, lunch, and dinner all had plenty of choice, the prices were reasonable, and the staff there were attentive and friendly. The food was consistently cooked just right. The hotel itself is in a quiet residential area, but the city's main attractions are easy to reach, and I could walk to many of them. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a good bed, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and a private bathroom with both a shower and bath. The decor felt modern and welcoming. From arrival, the staff were warm, and check-in was quick and straightforward. I got all the information I needed about the hotel and its facilities. I had a fantastic stay, it exceeded my expectations, and I'd happily return.

The breakfast was really good, with a nice selection and fresh fruit. The room was large, and the bathroom looked lovely. But the bed felt like something from a mediocre mobile home, not a three-star hotel, and it's why we won't return. They should replace it. Having two pillows per person would be nice too.
