Cosy, small, and well organised. The beds weren’t great for your back, though they were okay for a short stay. There’s just one shower, and it wasn’t very good, especially with three couples in a three-bedroom apartment. Still, it was manageable.

We arrived to an awful mess. The previous guests’ bedding had been used and smelled, the toilet still had hair and signs of use, and the dishes and cutlery were dirty even though they’d been put away as if clean. The owner was rude and ill-mannered. What a disgusting, infuriating experience. We complain about party tourists, yet two families with young girls came in a sporty way, without throwing parties and ready to look after what they found, and were treated like this. What a disgrace.

The owner did offer us the choice to leave and look elsewhere, but with everything booked for the race weekend, there was nowhere else available. We did leave later than planned because part of our group was taking part in the Montanejos race, which affected our timing. We said we were coming down, but halfway down he said he was leaving and told us not to break anything. The way he spoke to us, and the lack of courtesy toward my friend, were rude. Fortunately, not everyone is like that. I have photos of what I described, and they don’t lie. The bathroom tiles were stained, with hair and lint all over; the kitchen dishes were greasy and had food stuck to them, and both the cutlery drawer and cutlery were dirty. The bedroom pillow looked used and didn’t smell clean, and the sheet hadn’t been changed. Ask if you need the house photos. Thank you, no further questions, Your Honor. P.S. I doubt he meets as many people a year as he claims.

There’s plenty to find in the town: three bars, two bakeries, two butcher shops, and a convent selling cookies and anise doughnuts. We also enjoyed wandering the narrow lanes and seeing the old houses, which are well preserved.
